Resume gives you an opportunity to shine. Make sure it speaks for you !

Let's get started......

Step #1 Do your research about the job profile you are applying for.

If you are a student and looking for survival jobs or a physiotherapy assistant or resident job find a job posting and study it.

Step#2 Cater your resume according to the job posting requirements.

Match the key words that is given in the job posting. Add name of the clinic you are applying to along with position title.

Add availability if possible.

DO NOT send physiotherapy specific resume for a cashier/restaurant staff job.

feel free to mention your qualification but do not show that you are overqualified for that job.

Try to mention details that employer needs to know.

for example - Your name prefix - Dr. Niha (PT) should not be written for general labour job.

Keep separate resume for general job and professional jobs.

Step#3 Add relevant experience

For a cashier job you can show past experience of cash handing and retail related positions. you may not have in Canada experience as fresher but your home country experience can be added.

Pro tip: Do not share your future plans with your employer such as getting PT License unless required.

WHY? employers are mostly looking for long term commitments as employee turnover is not good for business.

(Keep your resume concise & one sided only)
